Max-Flux Toolkit
MaxFlux is a tool that estimates the maximum flux that is expected to be encountered by a satellite along its orbit. It has been built upon results produced by the AE-8/AP-8 and AE-9/AP-9 models.
The users can define a trajectory by specifying the values of four parameters:
- duration: the duration of the orbit in number of days
- inclination: the inclination of the orbit in degrees
- perigeeAltitude: the altitude of perigee in km
- apogeeAltitude: the altitude of apogee in km
The MaxFlux tool will produce the mean spectra for the entirety of the orbit that correspond to the maximum electron and proton flux. Especially for protons, two spectra are derived, one corresponding to the trapped particle environment and a second one corresponding to the incoming flux of solar wind particles.
