IRENE Space Radiation Modelling and Data Analysis Workshop 2025
We are pleased to announce the upcoming workshop on advances in the International Radiation Environment Near-Earth (IRENE) modeling initiative. This collaborative event is jointly organized by the AE-9/AP-9/SPM Technical Team, European Space Agency and the Hellenic Space Center.
The workshop will bring together experts to share knowledge and discuss progress in several critical areas:
Energetic Charged Particle Datasets: Latest data from newly flown instruments, updated datasets with at least one year of flight data, intercalibration methodologies, and approaches to data accessibility and sharing.
Radiation Belts and Plasma Modeling: Focus on climatology modeling methods and implementation, with discussions on the convergence of IRENE with other models, validation techniques, and using simulations to support modeling efforts.
Effects Tools and End User Perspectives: A hybrid session allowing users to share their experiences with IRENE applications.
Cislunar Environments: Exploration of solar particles near 1 AU (including solar wind and Solar Energetic Particles), deep tail environments, and related climatology modeling.
This workshop represents an important opportunity for advancing our understanding of the near-Earth radiation environment, with significant implications for spacecraft design, mission planning, and space exploration safety.
